General Meeting - November 3, 2026
The next General Meeting of the Squadron will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 6:30 pm at Eileen Rickard’s home at 19261 Briarwood Lane, Strongsville. A light dinner will be provided. Bridge Meeting - October, 2026
There is no Bridge meeting scheduled for October due to the timing of the USPS Governing Board in Raleigh, North Carolina. The next Bridge meeting is Tuesday, November 3rd. Details about location will be sent shortly. For more information, please contact Cdr. Larry Spraggins at 330-840-4450.
District 7 Fall Conference, October, 23-24, 2026
The annual District 7 Fall Conference will be held at Riverbend Hotel in Ashtabula on Saturday, Oct. 24. Friday night we will meet for dinner at Bridge Street Tavern, order off the menu with separate checks. The hotel is providing discounted rates of $149.00 per room. Saturday morning, the conference will host two speakers for the group. Saturday lunch will be provided at the hotel. The business meeting will start at 2:00 pm. Activities
When you join America’s Boating Club®, you’re joining a community that was built For Boaters, By Boaters®. You’ll be creating a lifetime of memories on the water, on shore, and in the community. Camaraderie doesn’t stop at the dock and membership doesn’t end when the cruise ends. That’s what makes us different. WEEKEND SUMMER CRUISES
Weekend summer cruises are some of the most fun events that Berea offers its members and guests. Not only are cruises fun, but they offer new members a chance to travel with other boats and help with docking at new places. Berea usually coordinates cruises to at least two destinations each summer and District 7 coordinates a third trip.
CRUISE THE CUYAHOGA
Each summer, members and guests get together on a Monday evening for a fun, informative trip on the Cuyahoga River on a MetroParks boat. We board the boat at Merwin’s Wharf. In the last several years, we have met at a restaurant close to Merwin’s Wharf or a late lunch/early dinner before the cruise.
SHIPMATES DINNER
Most months, the women of Berea squadron get together on a weekday evening at a restaurant for a good meal, good conversation, and good fun. And, of course, cupcakes or cookies. All are invited.
MEN’S LUNCH
Usually, the last Tuesday of each month, the men of Berea squadron gather at High Noon for a good meal, good conversation and a good time. All are invited, including members and guests from other squadrons.
DISTRICT 7 CONFERENCES
Berea Sail and Power Squadron is one of nine squadrons in District 7. We all get together for conferences in the fall and spring. Conferences are a mix of fun, educational information, and district business.
BIRTHDAY PARTY
Berea Sail and Power Squadron was established in May of 1973. Each year since then, our members and guests get together to celebrate our birthday. Sometimes the celebration is at a restaurant. The last few years, it has been at a MetroParks picnic shelter.
CHRISTMAS PARTY
Berea celebrates the holidays with their annual Christmas Party. Held in an area restaurant, it is a time for members and guests to have a good time. We also celebrate by exchanging nautical gifts.
CLEVELAND BOAT SHOW
The District 7 squadrons in the general Cleveland area have an active booth at the Cleveland Boat Show to publicize their courses, squadrons and activities. Berea has always taken a strong role in organizing and manning this booth.
