About
The Berea Sail and Power Squadron was formed in 1973 as a part of America’s United States Power Squadrons (USPS). America’s Boating Club® is a registered trademark of United States Power Squadrons®, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization organized in 1914. America’s Boating Club has nearly 20,000 members organized into more than 300 squadrons across the country.
The United States Power Squadron has three primary objectives:
– Friendship and Camaraderie
– Continuing Education
– Community Service
We are a group of individuals dedicated to making recreational boating safer and more fun! Our members get involved by participating in social activities and cruises, volunteering their time to teaching classes and seminars, performing vessel safety checks and much, much more! The vast majority of our members find participation in our activities extremely rewarding and have made friendships that will last a lifetime. This is the best reason to join the United States Power Squadrons!
The Berea Sail and Power Squadron has members from all over northeast and north central Ohio, but the primary area where we draw members from is from Cuyahoga, Medina, and Lorain counties. Many of our members do most of their boating on Lake Erie in the Western Basin, and the Cleveland and Geneva areas. We are in District 7 which is made up of 10 squadrons and covers the geographical area between Vermilion, OH, Pittsburgh, PA and northern W. Virginia.
